Our contribution to the Yarra Quilt has been to explore the creatures that inhabit the Mullum Mullum Creek. This is a subsidiary of the Yarra River that borders our school grounds. The students play beside this creek on a regular basis and enjoy the environment that it offers. Our environmental students have over the past few years explored this area and assisted with the maintenance of the flora and fauna in and around the creek.

Three students worked with myself and Mrs Susan Drew to create these panels. The children studied the habits of these creatures and decided on the materials that would best suit creating an environment from materials. They made their own felt from merino wool and used silk paints for the suggestion of water.

They experimented with different stitching techniques to link the work together.

We hope that you enjoy their efforts.
