My dog Chocolate digging the river bank.
Our favourite memories of the Yarra are long walks with Chocolate, who loves swimming in the river and performing architectural rearrangements of the river bank. Chocky has also spent many hours by the river with his beloved dog-walker Bev, who has amused us no end with accounts of his exploits.

This block was designed using applique of different cotton fabrics for the scene of the river bank and tree trunks. The bull rushes are partially free-standing, hand-stitched using turkey stitch for the heads and weaving for the leaves. Each bull rush head took about 12 hours to stitch!
