Karen Throssell

I walk by my bit of the river (the bit that runs through Warrandyte from the bridge to Everard drive) almost every morning, and I have watched its changing moods over the seasons.

Detail from work by Karen Throssell

Over a couple of years I have written a series of haiku poems celebrating each season. The one I chose to illustrate for the quilt was my winter one, as I think it is at its most beautiful at this time.

Soft ghostly swathes hang,
hover, over river glass.
