Pam Booth

Piece by Pam Booth

My sample piece has been created from hand made felt and embroidery. I have lived in Warrandyte for 35 years. Over that time there have been many footsteps taken along the bank of the Yarra River.

Each stitch of my sample represents the many footsteps taken with my family and friends over many years. The walking tracks along the river have given us all access to the physical beauty of the environment as well as access to a place where one can get in touch with the spiritual side of the rivers being.

The native vegetation wraps itself around the banks of the river—the gums with their tall white trunks, the dense understorey of silver wattles, the rushes lining the banks and the many species of native birds—all contribute in making the Yarra river an important part of my life's physical and spiritual journey.
